This may be our favorite site yet! Not only is it for a great organization, but it features many layers of content and functionality from an extensive set of resourses and deep but simple navagation to an interactive calendar, event registration, and what every non-profit needs - an easy donation system.

The Clara Jean foundation is non-profit with education about alternative medicine in the treatment of breast cancer as it's primary focus.  The site needed to warm, attractive and clean. It is also loaded with information. That involves many pages of materials that need to be easy to find and address the issues faced by women undergoing breast cancer treatment.  One of the obvious solutions is a breadcrumb feature to help people keep track of where they are on the site, but we also added a features menu in the center of the front page to highlight items of particular interest.  

This feature allows CJF to highlight upcoming events, business partnerships, new educational content or to bring attention to content that is especially relevent to site users.  Because it is interactive (the images change to relate to the content of the item as it is moused over) without being flashy or obnoxious, it also provides a level of interest that makes the site sticky and draws users back.

Another measure implemented to make sure content is easy to find was to make sure that all menu items are in a "standard" position. That means an across the top menu as well as a side menu that changes to relate to the page visited by the site user.  We chose the side menu to keep the top menu from being too confusing and to eliminate the frustration that sometimes comes from the difficulty some users have with sliding their mouse up and down small menus that change if the mouse moves.  While that may not be an issue for some users, because the population using the site may have trouble using thier mouse or keyboard, we felt it was very important to make it a physically easy site to use.

The side menu also helps users jump to related content without having to re-navigate the entire menu system because it is stable within each subsection of the top menu. Tat makes it easier for site users to compare various treatment modalities or research briefs.

The events section of the site adds another layer of interactivity as well as a wealth of information for the site user. The interactive calendar is click-able by date and takes the user to a list of the day's events. There is also a master list under events in the top menu. Each event also
